Hello Steinbeck Families and Students,
It is with great pride and excitement to return as Principal of Steinbeck Elementary School! I have been in education for 28 years as an elementary school teacher, administrator and EL Supervisor. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return and lead a school with such amazing students, families and staf members. Our mission this upcoming school year is to provide equitable access to rigorous instruction in an inclusive environment that develops the social emotional well-being of each of our students. Our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program continues to grow in developing students to be Focused, Independent, Nice and Safe in and around campus. Steinbeck is the first AVID elementary school in Central Unified, AVID stands for; Advancement Via Individual Determination. “AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.” Our staff is committed to ensuring that all students are supported and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. This however, is a process that requires the shared efforts of parents, students and educators. We encourage you to become involved in your child’s education by attending school site meetings, keeping in communication with your child’s teacher, and by discussing current instructional topics with your child. This shared partnership between home and school is essential in helping students meet their highest potential.
